To strengthen their finance function during a period of rapid growth, the business required a commercially minded Financial Accountant. The position was designed to combine technical accounting expertise with the ability to support wider transformation projects, making it an opportunity to influence both day-to-day operations and long-term success.

Core responsibilities
Key duties included preparing financial statements, balance sheets and reports, auditing transactions, and ensuring compliance with legislation. The role also involved coordinating the finance team, managing payments and month-end processes, and taking a lead role in implementing a new accounting system (Dynamics 365 Business Central).

Skills and experience required
The business was looking for a qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge and the confidence to guide process improvements. A background in corporate finance or business accounting was valuable, along with excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics was particularly advantageous.
