A Group Director of HR was appointed to lead the people strategy across a multi-division organisation, working at board level to transform HR and compliance. Reporting to the CFO and working at board level, the role combined responsibility for the full HR function with driving transformation in compliance, culture and people development across Surrey, Sussex and the wider South East.

Core responsibilities
The position covered leadership of the HR and payroll team, oversight of employment policies, recruitment and retention, employee engagement and reward, as well as compliance in health and safety and GDPR. It also included shaping HR strategy, leading restructuring projects and acting as a trusted advisor to the board on all people-related issues.
Skills and experience required
The business was looking for a CIPD-qualified HR leader with proven experience at board level, strong employment law knowledge and the ability to influence organisational culture.
