This role required a Head of HR & Volunteering to lead the people function for a diverse organisation with over 60 staff and 700 active volunteers. The position combined operational HR leadership with developing long-term strategies to strengthen culture, compliance and workforce planning across Surrey and the wider South East.

Core responsibilities
The role involved managing HR across the full employee lifecycle, developing and implementing policies, leading on ER issues and safeguarding, and ensuring compliance with employment law, GDPR and H&S. It also required overseeing the volunteering programme, driving engagement, and working with senior leaders on change and workforce planning.

Skills and experience required
The organisation was seeking an experienced HR leader with a strong generalist background, proven ability to manage complex ER cases and influence at senior level. Experience leading cultural change and developing volunteer programmes was highly desirable.
